Designed by renowned local architect William Henry Lynn as part of the overall Campbell campus in the 1890s, the iconic New House buildings have served as a wartime hospital, a school, and a home to many thousands of boys and men. Within these familiar red-bricked walls, lives have been enriched, friendships forged, and leaders in science, politics, business, sport and the arts, inspired.

Inevitably, time and the weather have taken their toll, and in 2022 the Board of Governors committed to undertake a £15m Heritage Restoration Programme as part of the College’s campus-wide Building for the Future capital development programme. Since work began in 2022, the Clock Tower (Phase 1), South West Quad (Phase 2) and South East Quad (Phase 3) have been painstakingly restored and futureproofed. Phase 4, which emcompasses New House, is due for completion in September 2026 and will cost the College almost £1million.

Unlike most other schools in Northern Ireland, the College receives no capital support towards the upkeep of its estate, so all restoration costs are self-funded through pupil fees, College funds and the generosity of the Campbell Community - we are grateful to all our donors and simply couldn't do this without you.
