The U13 and U14s recently visited Amsterdam to attend a coaching event that focused on developing skills but also providing competitive meets with local teams. An extensive program was experienced by the players which included pro-coaching sessions, self-led sessions and matches with teams from Amsterdam. Pupils commented that the coaching was really valuable and helped them develop existing skills and their preparation for competitive play. The matches were very challenging which was a great experience in itself and helped the players come together as a team. The U14 team won 1 of their 2 matches and although the results didn't go the way of the U13s, they gained a lot from playing against highly skilled players and made some great friends along the way.

When not playing hockey, the boys took part in a variety of team building activities. Despite the busy schedule, they still found time to visit a few different spots around Amsterdam including Johan Creuff Arena and a tour of Ajax Stadium, a theme park, water park and a laser tag centre!  We asked a few of the players for their thoughts on their experience, which you can watch in the video below.
