General News

Before the end of term, our Year 9 pupils took part in an interactive and inspiring Futures Day, designed to encourage them to think about future pathways beyond school while developing the transferable skills essential for success in the world of work.

Throughout the day, pupils participated in four workshops focused on helping them explore opportunities, develop key skills and begin planning for the future.

We were delighted to be supported by several Career Ambassadors, many of whom were Old Campbellians, who shared their experiences and career journeys across a diverse range of sectors, including Architecture, Medicine, Law, Finance, Digital Technologies, Civil Engineering, Communications, Public Services, Politics, Economics and Sports Tourism. Pupils had the opportunity to put our ambassadors under the spotlight during a careers networking activity, asking questions and gaining valuable insights into different professions.

Students also took part in a practical Engineering Challenge delivered by the W5 Outreach team, using K'NEX to design and build bridges capable of supporting the greatest possible weight.

Other workshops included a Skills Challenge, where teams worked together to solve a series of real-world scenarios linked to different career areas. Pupils also explored the Unifrog careers platform, using psychometric profiling tools to gain a greater understanding of potential future pathways and areas of interest.

Throughout the day, pupils developed their teamwork, problem-solving, communication and innovation skills while exploring the many possibilities available to them in the years ahead.

Our sincere thanks go to everyone who helped make the day possible, particularly our Career Ambassadors for sharing their time, experiences and advice with the next generation.
