Our Campbell College Pipes and Drums provided parents, OCs and friends of the College with a spectacular performance on the Quadrangle. Thankfully the sun shone brightly, though the wind did pose a few challenges for our band! Anyone who looked closely may have noticed an additional drum was in use by drummer Bertie, Year 12 (School).

During the Speech Day presentations, the theme of giving back was a common reference. It was fitting therefore, that Grahame Harris (10321), who directs our Pipes and Drums explained, 'The drum was gifted to Campbell College by Geelong College in Victoria, Australia in 1913. The drum had been in need of restoration and we are so glad that we could bring it back to be played today for our guests'.

Here is a short clip from the Speech Day performance:

We are researching more information on this instrument and our connection with Geelong College. If anyone has any information about the drum, do please contact Claire Bunting in the Development Office development@campbellcollege.co.uk
