Our Year 9 pupils recently participated in an introduction to cadet training at the Palace Barracks. Our pupils learned a whole host of skills as you can see from the photos in our gallery. The boys agreed it was a really interesting day and a lot more involved than they had expected. Our trainees learned some practical skills including command tasts, tackling a climbing frame, shooting skills on a simulator and how to administer CPR.
The Year 9s also took part in team building exercises including scaling a climbing wall while blindfolded and being given instructions from their team mates. This challenge helped them not only to trust their team but also to improve their communication skills with each other. Many thanks to the team at Palace Barracks for offering this training. It will provide our Year 9 pupils with a great range of skills in preparation for beginning CCF in Year 10.
A few of our pupils were interviewed by British Forces Broadcasting Service Radio. You can listen to the interview here:
Photos from the day are featured in our gallery, please remember you mut be logged in to see our photos.
