It was an exciting day for the new Campbell College Year 8 class! Beginning with a welcome performance from the Campbell College Pipes and Drums to calm any first day nerves (see video below), pupils were greeted at the Middle School entrance by Year 8 Head Mr McKee, who shook the each pupil's hand as they enterted the school. Mr McKee will be the Head of Year during their time at Campbell and be a great mentor as they progress through to Year 14.
Pupils met their tutors and quickly joined an opening assembly with Housemasters and the Headmaster. Mr Robinson asked them to think about how much they can bring to the school and by remembering to do their best, bring a positive attitude in all they do, to listen and with the skills they learn they will gradullay achieve greater knowledge in and outside the classroom.
After the tour of areas around the school and lunch, our Prefects led a scavenger hunt with our pupils searching areas around the campus for clues to questions such as:
Through this activity, pupils also learned the Campbell motto Ne Obliviscaris - Never Forget. I am sure our Year 8s will never forget their first day at Campbell, just like some of our current pupils featured in the video below with footage of the Campbell College Pipes and Drums welcome parade!
Photos of the day are featured in our Media Gallery below, which is only visible if you are fully logged into the Hub.
