Campbell is not just a school, it's also a home to around 150 boarders. Tucked behind the main College Building, our boarding houses are divided into Junior Boarding for Years 8-10 and Senior Boarding for Years 11-14. Within boarding we have smaller Houses - Armours, Belmont, Bowen's and Chase's House.
We met with a few of our younger boarders to ask them why they decided to board and to share their persectives on the boarding experience. As you will hear, students choose boarding for a variety of reasons - to overcome a long commute, to attend a better school than is available locally, they liked the idea of boarding, to gain independence in readiness for life after school, to improve their English skills or because the sports at Campbell and the curriculum in Northern Ireland is very strong and offers additional opportunities.
Our students mentioned the support system in place from Housemasters, Boarding Staff, Housemothers, Senior Students and Gap Assistants - also known as 'Gappies'. We will be posting a feature on our Gappies later this week on the Hub.
