We recently reported on our Daffodil Tea event which took place on 25th April in The College. This annual event is organised by our Charity Club; a group of student volunteers and staff host guests from nearby residential homes for an afternoon of tea, conversation and bingo. Our students were thrilled to learn that one of our guests was a distinguished Old Campbellian John AN Turner (3447), also known by his initials JAN. John was a member of the 1950 cup winning 1st XV rugby team and also played for Ulster. Our 1st XV students were particularly excited to meet him! A member of staff located The Campbellian magazine from 1950 which included a photo of the team with the cup. Both John and the boys were thrilled to see it. Alex, Year 14, Deputy Head Prefect and member of the 1st XV shared his thoughts with us:
Thank you Alex, for taking time to share your expereince with us. A link to the original article on our Daffodil Tea can be accessed here. Photos from the event are available to view in our Photo Gallery.
