On Sunday 1st May, eleven members from Campbell College ran the Mash Direct Belfast City Marathon! Two relay teams of 5 entered and Mr McNerlin, Chemistry Teacher ran his first full marathon!
The School House Team were also represented with a team of 5 Sixth Form runners which included Seb and Harvey Year 14 along with Ivan, Alexander and Alan from Year 13. The staff relay team comprised Mrs. Wightman, Biology; Mr. McNabb, and Mr. Wilson, Dining Services; Mr. Snodden, Music; and Mrs. McInerney, Physics.
Our Marathon runners entered the race to raise funds for our main charity of the year – Action Cancer. Action Cancer is a Northern Irish charity dedicated to saving lives and supporting people through cancer awareness, prevention, detection and support. If you wish, you can still donate to their JustGiving page by clicking here: JustGiving @CCB. So far the team has raised just over £1500! Thank you to everyone who donated our runners are thrilled to have raised these much needed funds for Action Cancer.
Huge congratulations to everyone involved, it took a lot of training and determination to complete this event, especially to Mr McNerlin for taking on the full race!
