As part of European Day of Languages Year 11 pupils had the opportunity to hear from our classroom assistant Señora Rojas from Santiago, Chile about the geography, customs and culture of Chile. One of our Year 11 Spanish boarders shared information about the culture, food and customs of Andalucia, his home province.
Other activities throughout the day included a treasure hunt and a European Day of Languages quiz for Key stage 3 pupils. Year 9 pupils enjoyed a French breakfast with croissants and some Year 9 German pupils took the opportunity to bake German pretzels and bring them in for the rest of the class. Pupils also got to hear about what it’s like to live in Berlin, football, food and German culture from one of our boarders. A classmate also took the opportunity to try on the football kit of Borussia Dortmund, the boarder’s favourite football team!
