Pupils in Years 8-10 competed in the annual House Bake-Off Competition. Pupils had submitted entries for a 'Coronation-themed Dessert' and had time to practice at home. The boys had 1 hour to complete their Coronation creations and took to the task with great enthusiasm and impressive teamwork. We saw lots of activity of creaming and whisking, following instructions and watching of cakes rising in the oven! At the end of the time, we saw 7 wonderful entries on the table.
Guest Judges Mr McNab, Catering Manager and Mr Harper, Facilities Manager remarked how successful the young bakers had been. The standard was very high especially for their age and the time they had. When awarding points, thr judges were assessing organisation and hygeine, cooking skills, timing, dish presentation and taste. In the end the teams with the best bakes were:
1st Place: School
2nd Place: Yates's
3rd Place: Dobbin's
Congratulations to everyone for an oustanding competition!
