The Daffodil Tea resumed... with a difference!

Arriving at Towell House

Each year, boys from P7 in the Junior School along with the Charity Committee from the College host an afternoon tea to local elderly residents. Sadly lockdown has prevented this much-loved event from taking place and although there was still need for caution we were determined to try and resume this important connection between our pupils and our local community.

The Charity Committee organized afternoon tea for residents of Towell House, providing a "Tea in a Box" with baskets of tea time treats, sandwiches, tray bakes and an Easter Egg for everyone. Junior School made joyful paper daffodil arrangements to share out while our agriculture students grew pots of daffodils from bulbs in class. The Pipe Band also joined the event and provided musical entertainment to the residents as they were served tea. Our Campbellians made a big impact at Towell House. It was clear that the residents enjoyed spending time with the boys and appreciated their generosity and kindness.

Although we prefer to hold the event in the College where we can host many more guests and involve a larger group of pupils, we were thankful to be able to continue with the event in its modified form this year. We look forward to resuming as usual in the College next year. We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the basket donations, as you can see in the photo gallery, we were able to provide a very generous tea with a difference!
