We recently met with Mrs. Wendy Pearson, Head of HE and Hospitality and Assistant Head of Senior Boarding to learn more about the curriculum and the talents of our young cooks. In this interview, you will learn about the work our students complete in more detail and the projects they have taken part in. Additional photos can be found in the Media Gallery below (please note you must be logged in to the Hub fully to see these) and special credit to Year 10 pupils Zachary (Alden's) and Jamie (Allison's) for their videos!

Our pupils are also given the opportunity to demonstrate their talents outside of school. Miss Anna Beckett, Hospitality Teacher and Assitant Head of Junior Boarding is the lead teacher for the FutureChef Competition. The FutureChef Competition is headed by the Springboard charity whose objective is to promote the hospitality industry to the unemployed and underserved but also to promote the industry to younger-aged students.  FutureChef is supported by Michelin starred Chef Brian Turner and a team of the UK's top chefs including Jean-Christoph Novelli and Monica Galleti. Henderson's Foodservice supports the local NI competition. Pupils enter local heats and if successful, progress to compete at a higher standard Regional heat and then to a National event in London. In this video Miss Beckett discusses this year's competition with entrant Michael, Year 11 (Yates's).
